I think it’s important to admit our imperfections.
For example, I have a major sweet tooth. And instead of beating myself up about it, I’ve decided I believe in two kinds of days: fat days and healthy days.
Fat days are the days where you eat an obnoxious amount of chocolate and sweets but don’t feel guilty about it because it’s your fat day. Should fat days be everyday? No way, man. They are counterbalanced by…
The healthy days. These are the days when you eat whole grains and vegetables and fruits and low-fat dairy. The days when your dessert is hot tea or fruit with a dollop of light whip cream. The days when you go to bed saying “I was healthy today” and you feel good about yourself.
One of my favorite quotes is “Everything in moderation, including moderation.” As in, sometimes, you need to limit your moderation, therefore meaning you need to just splurge. Eat the cupcake, get a Starbucks frappe, and put some chocolate chips on your oatmeal. Then wake up the next day and have a smoothie or bowl of fruit for breakfast.
This, my friends, is a healthy meets unhealthy recipe. Oats + chocolate chips. Sunflower seeds + honey. The perfect combination of bikini body ready and splurging.
